As the costs of living continue to rise, and the cost of a higher education drives thousands of Black students further and further into debt, the scholarships that the TJ Reddick Bar Association awards play a pivotal role in getting students into a place of peace where they can either take time off to study for the bar exam, or be able to purchase the tools they need while still in law school to get them to the next level.
Jordana Ashley Rostant-Nunes, Assistant State Attorney for the 17th Judicial Circuit

I was once a grateful recipient of the Rodney Rawls Scholarship, a beacon of light during a challenging time. It eased my financial burden and fueled my ambition. My journey from recipient to President (2022-2023) proves the power of support. Being President was a full-circle moment to give back. If you’re hesitant to apply, let my story be your nudge—one opportunity can transform your path.
Alexia Hudson / Past President, TJ Reddick Bar Association

Obtaining a juris doctor degree is costly, especially for students without financial support. The availability of scholarships often determines whether they can pursue this path. As a recipient of the TJ Reddick Bar Association’s Henry Latimer Scholarship, I was able to focus on my studies and a judicial internship without financial stress, greatly contributing to my success. I am forever grateful for the opportunities this scholarship has provided in my legal career.
