Our board members are committed to building on the rich legacy first planted by TJRBA’s founders

Dear Reader,

I am honored to represent the T.J. Reddick Bar Association (“TJRBA”) as President during the 2024-2025 term. Over forty years after its inception, the TJRBA is well-known for our dedication to the advancement of Black lawyers within the legal profession and our adaptability. As needs have changed over time, our mission has expanded. Our board members are committed to building on the rich legacy first planted by TJRBA’s founders and cultivated by the organization's past leaders.

The term "practice of law" refers to the ongoing, dynamic nature of legal work. This year's theme: “The Practice of Excellence: Building on Tradition & Setting New Standards” is our recognition and reminder that in our pursuit of excellence, we must continually engage in ongoing, dynamic service within our community.

Excellence requires skill development, continuous learning, application of knowledge, interactions and professionalism. For practicing TJRBA members, we will provide access to CLEs that cultivate skills to enhance your performance within your practice areas and daily lives. For students in high school, college and law school, our board is focused on increasing scholarship opportunities. Our goal is to serve our community and make an impact that will inspire future leaders who are committed to carrying the mantle forward.
The TJRBA will continue to advocate for proficiency and diversity. Individually we aim to practice at our highest level of advocacy. Collectively, we aim to practice before a judiciary that reflects the communities it serves.

Whether you are a member or supporter of the TJRBA, we want to connect with you. Stay tuned to our weekly newsletters, website and social media pages for resources and opportunities. I look forward to interacting with you throughout the year.

We hope you will partner with us in our practice of excellence.

In service,

Sincerely,
Camille Smith, Esq.
